Selection creates a sense of tug-of-war between humans and nature. In Selection, miniature animals, such as a dog or a bird, are moved back and forth between their home and the mouth of a tiger sculpture. Participants use their own voices to make a choice -to make the animal safe or be eaten.
Process: My concept was to develop a narrative presentation and have the audience determine the ending. I wrote the program integrating voice commands and animated movements. I also designed and made the sculptures, calibrated the voice sensor, and created the animated animals.
